How to cook a Sotho dish called Ntsoanatsike

This is a Sotho dish

Ingredients:

Mealie Meal – 2 cups

Flour – 1 cup

Dry Yeast – 1/2 sachet

Sugar – 1/2 cup

Water – 1 Litre

Step 1:

Mix all dry Ingredients together

Step 2:

Mix the above with warm water

Step 3:

Wait till the mixture grows in size & shape aka raise… please note it won’t grow or rise like Dumpling Dough, it might crack.

Step 4:

Prepare a big pot that you will use to boil water with

Put your dough in a  dish and place this dish inside the pot

Make sure the water is at a low-level i.e. it doesn’t reach the dough

Cook/Boil for 2 hrs and 45 minutes

Serves approximately 4 people

Serve with tea or Mokhodu
