Ledombi le Chicken

aka Dumpling and Chicken

Cooking time ± 25 to 30 minutes

Preparing Dumpling:


4 cups of Flour

2 teaspoons of salt

2 teaspoons sugar

10g yeast

1 cup sweetcorn {optional}


Step 1:

Sift flour into a bowl. Add Salt ,Sugar ,Yeast and the add the Sweetcorn .

Step 2:

Add 1 cup of Water at a time into mix to make the dough. The dough must be mid-stiff & well kneaded

Step 3:

Leave it to rise by covering it with a cloth for ± 10 minutes.


Preparing the Chicken;


2 Tablespoons oil

1 Clove garlic chopped

1 Onion peeled and chopped

2 or 3 Carrots peeled and chopped

Yellow raja curry 


Black pepper

4-Chicken pieces

1 tomato chopped

1 Chicken stock cube

and 2 cups boiling water.

Cooking Steps – Step 1:

Heat oil ,Fry the Onion and Garlic until golden brown or for about 10 secs

Step 2:

Add the Chicken pieces and keep turning them frequently

Step 3:

When the chicken is brown add the Tomato and the Carrots then dissolve in 2 cups of hot water and pour over the chicken.

Step 4:

Season with Curry ,Salt & Pepper

Step 5:

Then make Tennis ball size dumplings with your hands.

Step 6:

Put one dumpling at a time making sure they don’t stick to each other

Step 7:

Cover & cook for 35 – 40 minutes. Serve hot

Serves 4 people
